about

'Sugar Cube Castle' was originally released on the Belly Ache Records 'Sweet Sounds of Detroit Vol.2' Compilation. Recorded on our coach at the Wrenson Beat Lab in the Summer of 2009 by Lo-Fi Bri.

lyrics

Carjack's Lo-Fi Bri, Justin Audio from Siddhartha and Miss N. make like true Neu! 313-soul acolytes rockin' it motorik-punk-style talkin' shit on the front porch. Owing equal debt to such obscure '70s dusty soul grooves as Adult's aggressive, austere electronic minimalism, this group's months-old "demo" tracks — including "Back to the D" and its more dancefloor-focused sibling "Back to the D Reprise" — are a more fully-realized vision than one expects from most 5-year-old outfits. True grit; true groove.
- Metrotimes Detroit

'Electric Fire Babies set the tone for the evening with their electronic, soul and guitar filled beats that I’m going to term "DJ Rock." All local Detroit venues should take note: if you’re looking for a group that can deliver a party right to your stage, give the Electric Fire Babies a call.
- MotorCityRocks

'The incomparably storm-the-stage tribal-booty-techno-funk of Electric Fire Babies, featuring Miss N. on vocals/drums, Lo-Fi Bri of Carjack on synth/guitar and Justin (Audio) Walker of the Directions on guitar/drums. Check it out, because EFB's had their shit together after just ONE show...people won't know what hit 'em. (B-52's meets Chicks on Speed meets Suicide meets something else entirely)
- Deep Cutz

Electric Fire Babies. Part Carjack, part High Speed Dubbing, and part girl who can sing, rap, and play drums. The B-52’s are kind of my shit, so when this girl was dropping the Whoa whoa whoas it was nearly impossible to stand still. This was their first show ever, and I suspect it’ll be a busy summer.
